Surrounded by Hsinchu Science Park, Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRT), and the Professional Training Center (PTC) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), the Economics Department at National Tsing Hua University, compared to its counterparts at other universities, holds the edge of being exposed to the latest scientific and technological innovations and is privileged by the constant information updates on the global economy. Besides, the frequent runs of buses from the university gate to Taipei City has linked the University directly to the center of Taiwan’s politics and economy; the mere one-hour driving distance to the Jhuoshuei River, on the other hand, ensures the Department’s close contact with the Southern Taiwan’s social and economic movement.
